MENERT operates through its MENERT-THERM subsidiary three biomass boiler plants that use wood chips, pellets and corn straw as the energy source. MENERT-THERM was one of the first Slovak companies to start using renewable sources in heat generation.

We have many years of experience with the reconstruction of central heat sources and the construction of technological units. We were the first worldwide to transact a trade in greenhouse gas emission allowances in accordance with the terms of the Kyoto Protocol (in 2002).
